CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The North Carolina Technology Association selected SignUpGenius as a finalist for the NC TECH Awards in the Industry Driven - EdTech category. This awards program recognizes companies, organizations and individuals for their achievement, innovation and leadership throughout the year.
After a nomination period earlier this year, finalists and winners were chosen in a two-stage review process, led by the accounting firm Cherry Bekaert, in partnership with an independent selection committee. Winners will be announced during the NC TECH Virtual Awards at a series of three broadcasts on November 17, 18 and 19.
SignUpGenius has helped schools simplify event planning and volunteer coordination with online sign ups since 2008. The software as a service (SaaS) product saves educators and families valuable time with a range of features from standard automatic reminders to customized landing pages that help manage and display sign ups. Schools use SignUpGenius to coordinate parent teacher conferences, class parties, field trips, STEM learning events, PTO/PTA volunteers and more.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, schools are using SignUpGenius to facilitate virtual learning and keep their communities engaged even when they have to stay apart. SignUpGenius adapted to support how people are organizing differently during this time, such as releasing a Zoom integration to sync sign ups with the video conference software and creating new sign up designs that cater to virtual events.
“We’re honored to be part of the exciting innovation in North Carolina, and thank NC TECH and Cherry Bekaert for recognition in EdTech. SignUpGenius offers powerful solutions to help schools simplify event and volunteer organizing, from essential enterprise platforms for school districts to parent teacher conference sign ups,” said Chief Executive Officer Mike Barros. "As we rely on technology more than ever during the pandemic, SignUpGenius helps school communities stay engaged with advanced tools and intuitive integrations.”
