If you’re studying with friends, pledge to bring healthy snacks only while you study. Use and have everyone in your study group volunteer to bring a different healthy snack to your session. Choose veggies and dip instead of chips and dip. Bring fresh fruit instead of gummy bears.

Try to avoid eating late at night all together. Instead, look forward to that big nutritious breakfast in the morning to start your day off right. It really is the most important meal of the day.

Also, don’t become dependent on coffee or energy drinks for fuel. Instead, drink lots of water throughout the day. Decrease your carbohydrate intake as the day progresses so you don’t become sluggish and crash during valuable afternoon study time.

Remember the golden rule for college nutrition: THINK BEFORE YOU EAT. Opt for brain food while studying. Power up with proteins like nuts and trail mix rather than crashing with cookies and coke. Always stay hydrated, and remember green is good!
